Rosemary E. Martinson has devoted her extensive 30+ year career to the defense of medical malpractice allegations, both as a litigator and as an insurance claims professional. She is a Phi Beta Kappa, Cum Laude graduate of the College of the Holy Cross where she was a Charles A. Dana Scholar and member of the Honors Program. She obtained a Juris Doctorate from Fordham University School of Law, where she was a Noreen E. McNamara Scholar.

After graduation, Ms. Martinson worked on a segment of “Prime Time Live” exposing a fraudulent medical malpractice verdict, before joining a prominent New York City medical malpractice defense firm as an associate.  Ms. Martinson then took her practice to Long Island, where she defended doctors, nurses, dentists, and other health care providers for a medical malpractice insurer before joining a Suffolk County, NY defense firm where she remained for the next eleven years. During that time, she represented health care professionals and hospitals in all phases of litigation up to trial and argued numerous appeals before the Appellate Division, Second Department.

Ms. Martinson next focused her career on assisting health care professionals and medical centers as a claim litigation analyst for a NY medical malpractice carrier, analyzing primarily high exposure claims.  For the last several years, Ms. Martinson worked as manager of a team of claims professionals at a nationally renowned medical malpractice carrier with a large New York presence where she supervised several large medical and hospital group accounts, assisting with a wide range of insurance claim issues, including litigation management, coverage, negotiations, and mediations. She has a working knowledge of the many issues facing the industry in this post-Covid era.

Ms. Martinson is a member of the Association of Healthcare Risk Managers of NY and is admitted to practice in NY, NJ and the US District Courts for Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
