Anna Hock currently focuses her practice in the areas of Medical Malpractice, Healthcare, Federal Civil Rights, Mental Health, Personal Injury, General Liability, Construction Law, Municipal Liability and Nursing Home/Long Term Care Actions. She equally represents and advises healthcare clients on federal and state regulatory issues, including self-disclosures, compliance, fraud and abuse.

Ms. Hock has also focused part of her practice on representing mental health and health care professionals, major hospital systems and community hospitals, institutional and community outpatient programs. Her expertise includes the mental hygiene law, such as retention and treatment over objection psychiatric cases, capacity determinations, informed consent and medical treatment cases, confidentiality and release of records matters, Kendra’s Law applications (Assisted Out-Patient Treatment Orders), Article 81 and 17-A guardianship proceedings and legal interventions in the inpatient and outpatient treatment settings.

In addition, she also assists in forming not-for-profits from inception up through obtaining 501(c)3 status. On that note, she is currently on the Board of Directors of Kids’ Chance of New York and Co-Chair for the Advisory Board at North Shore Child and Family Guidance Center.

Prior to her legal career, she worked as a Polish interpreter with a major health care system and was also a volunteer in her local fire department.

Ms. Hock obtained her B.S. from St. John’s University in 2003 and her Juris Doctor in 2007 from New York Law School. She is admitted to the New York State Bar as well as the United States District Court in the Eastern and Southern Districts. Ms. Hock has been recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2016 and 2017.
