Robert Boccio is a member of the firm who handles high-exposure medical malpractice actions, nursing home cases, and municipality issues through all phases of litigation from inception to trial. In addition, he has extensive experience in handling high-profile and diverse complex general litigation, as well as pharmaceutical and product defect related matters in federal, state, and local courts. In 2019, Mr. Boccio was selected for national membership in the respected “Lawyers of Distinction” and “10 Best Attorneys” organizations.
Mr. Boccio began his legal career as an Assistant Corporation Counsel in the New York City Law Department’s Commercial and Real Estate Litigation division. Prior to joining VBPNP, Mr. Boccio spent over 10 years in a large litigation firm, where his clients included major hospitals, large healthcare systems and world-renowned physicians, which he guided through state and federal court cases. In addition, he also managed several accounts and successfully litigated multiple high-profile matters.
A former 2007 Mayoral Candidate, Mr. Boccio served for many years as an Assistant Village Prosecutor for the Incorporated Village of Lynbrook. In addition, he was the former Chairman of the Lynbrook Board of Zoning Appeals and Chairman of the Village’s Ethics Committee. In December of 2017, Mr. Boccio was appointed as a Trustee of the Village of Lynbrook and was formally elected to a 4-year term in March of 2019. As Trustee, Mr. Boccio is responsible for governing the Village’s operations, finances, and legislative initiatives. He is also an active supporter of many of Lynbrook’s youth athletic programs and has enjoyed coaching in the Lynbrook Titans Football program for the past several years.
Notably, Mr. Boccio has also lectured for over 15 years in benchmarking, process improvement, and performance management at Columbia University, where he is presently an Adjunct Associate Professor of International & Public Affairs.
Mr. Boccio holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics & English from New York University, a Master of Public Administration degree from Columbia University, where he was a Fellow, as well as a Juris Doctor from New York Law School, where he was an NYLS Scholar and a Picker Fellow. He is admitted to practice in New York State, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
