Kenneth Burford joined the firm in 2018 as a partner with more than 20 years’ experience defending the professions before state and federal courts, arbitrations and mediations. He has defended medical and dental malpractice claims, professional licensing and Department of Health proceedings. Mr. Burford has also handled complex toxic tort, employment and product liability matters.
Mr. Burford has been an invited lecturer to many hospitals, medical/dental groups and professional schools. He is a Visiting Professor of Law and Risk Management at St George’s Medical School and Graduate School of Business. He regularly advises medical and dental groups as well as hospitals concerning health law issues and vendor contracts. He has defended against software copyright and trademark claims.
Mr. Burford is a graduate of the State University of New York at Albany and thereafter of Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University. He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York, including the Southern and Eastern District Federal Courts. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Burford is on the Board of Catholic Guardian Services, an advisory Board for the American Cancer Society and a philanthropy committee at Montefiore Medical Center. He is also a Mayoral appointee to the White Plains Transportation Commission.
