Gemma Kenney joined the firm in 2019.  She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Scranton in Political Science and Criminal Justice, with a concentration in Womens’ Studies in 1996. While attending New York Law School, Ms. Kenney worked as a student legal assistant at the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office.  After graduation from law school in 1999, she remained at the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office in the criminal court bureau and as both a misdemeanor and felony assistant in the Domestic Violence and Sex Crimes Bureau.

Since 2003, Ms. Kenney has devoted her practice to medical malpractice defense.  Ms. Kenney handles all aspects of medical malpractice cases from inception to trial.  She has tried cases to verdict in Nassau, Suffolk, Queens and Kings Counties.  She also defends doctors in matters involving the Office of Professional Medical Conduct.

Ms. Kenney is an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and School in Malverne.  She serves on a number of school committees, as well as the School Board, where she provides pro bono representation to parents who have children with special needs.  Ms. Kenney also helps run the mock trial program at the school.  Ms. Kenney is also very involved in the Village of Malverne, serving as a Village Prosecutor, a member of the youth board, as well as a member of the planning board.

Ms. Kenney is admitted to practice law in the State of New York, as well as New Jersey, Connecticut and Washington D.C.
