Craig M. Goldwasser joined VBPNP in March of 2017 and is Senior Litigation Counsel to the firm’s medical malpractice and general liability practice groups. Mr. Goldwasser specializes in the defense of hospitals, doctors, and medical entities from inception through trial. He also specializes in the defense of local bars, restaurants and property owners in the New York area. Mr. Goldwasser is lead trial counsel for several of the firm’s clients.
Prior to joining VBPNP, Mr. Goldwasser was a trial attorney at a plaintiff’s personal injury and medical malpractice firm where he tried several cases in Kings, Bronx and Queens counties. From 2013 through 2015, Mr. Goldwasser was an associate at a large medical malpractice defense firm where he handled a variety of complex and high exposure medical malpractice matters.
While in law school, Mr. Goldwasser interned at the Richmond County Criminal Court for the Honorable Matthew Sciarrino, Jr. After graduation from law school, he worked as an associate at an insurance defense firm (where he also interned in law school), handling a broad range of general liability matters, including motor vehicle and premises liability, as well as subrogation and insurance coverage matters.
Mr. Goldwasser is a 2008 graduate of Binghamton University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics and Law. In 2011, Mr. Goldwasser obtained his Juris Doctorate from New York Law School, graduating cum laude, and was also selected as an Academic Success Program Teaching Fellow. He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey and the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey.
From 2015 through 2019, Mr. Goldwasser has annually been named by Super Lawyers as a New York “Rising Star” in the areas of medical malpractice and personal injury.
